about
eng: the last song we made before recording the album. I remember I drop D’d my acoustic guitar and started to fool around pretty Deftones-ish chords. I started developing the main riff for the verses and even though it was hard to play it fluently, it was very fun. I liked the idea of playing the verses just on one guitar but Shere had a hard time playing it so it became interesting to mix both guitar sounds. During our band practices, I showed the song parts to the girls since it was different from the previous song structures we’ve done in the past. I remember Shere wasn’t convinced with this new song, and she even felt it sounded too much like The Futureheads. It took us over 20 takes to record it, unlike the other ones that took 4 takes tops. The lyrics Shere wrote were just perfect, a little bit of that feeling all of us have experienced with previous relationships. Fun fact: a friend of ours told me he liked the song but he thought it was too Save Ferris-ish haha.

lyrics
You asked for it, we are done
Is this my turn to hurt you?
Ego is fighting for its own
Playing games with my thoughts
I'm over it
I am not
I'm over it
I am not
Flowers growing on new floor
Still your seed is dried inside me
'Cause went to deep to bring it out
I want you here
I hate you
I want your face
To break it
Still the wounds are bleeding strong
Some things will never go away
I hate you, I really do
I hate you, I HATE YOU
And I really, really want you to die
Different like the sea and the sky
But still we kiss in reflection...
